About Us

The concept of Yarn D’amour had very small beginnings.  As the female half of this partnership I have hand knitted for as long as I can remember.  Even through the dark days when knitting was extremely unfashionable  and the yarn available was dull and mainly acrylic – I kept the faith.  However during the last few years there has been a renaissance in hand knitting and thanks to the internet the range and quality of both yarns and patterns are staggering.  So I started buying yarn on the internet – quality hand painted yarn from specialist hand dyers – the more I bought the more I wanted my own dyed yarns.  Luckily my husband was interested enough to join me, as the dyer, to hand dye quality yarns.

Our aim is to produce the highest quality yarns, hand dyed with love and care.  We hope to marry beautiful coloured yarn and the commitment to always provide the best possible service for our customers. Our updates will be done on an ad-hoc basis.  New yarns will be added as they are dyed.

We are lucky enough to live out in the wilds and our house is supplied with spring water which means there are no artificial chemicals in the water that is used to dye the yarn.

Considerable care and attention is taken with the photographs of our yarns, and the pictures shown on this website are selected to provide the closest colour match to the actual yarn as seen in day light. However computer monitors vary and the colours you see may not match exactly.
